30 days of being Thankful – Remembering those who serve

This is Veterans’ Day. I am thankful for the men and women who have risked their lives for us to be safe and free. Holy God, protect all those who are serving in places of conflict. Be with our service men and women who are far from family and home. Remind that they are loved and missed. Especially in the holiday season, Lord, watch over them and give them a sense of belonging. Thank you for those who serve within the borders of our country – national guard, firemen, police, first responders, EMTs, and all those who step into emergencies and danger to serve, protect, and heal. Particularly surround those whose loved ones have died in service. During these holidays bring comfort and peace to hearts that are hurting and lives that were shattered at their loss. Thank you, Lord, that there are those who are willing to give all so that others may live. This is the lesson your Son taught us. May we all live it. Amen.
