30 days of being Thankful – Rainy Days

30 days of being Thankful – Rainy Days Nov 5, 2018

Today, my corner of the world has been cool, rainy, and gray. One would think finding something to be thankful for on such a day would be difficult. But, I love a rainy day. While I would love it more if I had a fireplace to cozy up to with a comfortable chair or couch, a cup of hot chocolate or tea, and a good book to read, I still give thanks for it even when I’m stuck in the office working. Rainy days for me, are meant for deep thinking and contemplating. They give way to profound thoughts on life and the rain that falls in everyone’s life. They also give space and time to allow me to think about the rain in my life, to be honest about the melancholy and the difficulties, and to put it all before God so God’s love can bring life and light back into me once again. I suppose it sounds a bit corny, but these rainy days remind me of God’s faithfulness especially when his light seems to be hidden. And for that, I am truly thankful.
